MapleNet: Examples and Source Code

The following examples provide a good starting point for those new to developing with MapleNet. These tutorials are quick examples of MapleNet functionality.

Also available: MapleNet Interactive Demos

Prerequisites

This site requires you to have the Java 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE), v. 1.4.1_01, 1.4.1_02 or 1.4.2, including the browser plugin. If you do not have the J2RE installed, go to the Sun Microsystems, Inc. J2RE page to download and install the version appropriate for your system.

In most cases, the maplenetclient.jar file, required to access MapleNet content, will download and install automatically when you access your first applet or Maplet. If, for some reason, the download and installation doesn't happen, you can copy the file maplenetclient.jar (found in the Resources section) directly to the extension directory of the J2RE that is used by the browser. For example, the lib\ext directory of the J2RE.

For each application, click the execute icon to view the application, and the source icon to download the source code.
